A comedy programme recently read Bible texts suspected of being Koranic verses. Everyone was totally shocked when it turned out that they were quotes from the Bible. So cruel is the Bible:


Dealing with people of other faiths

If one may believe John's second letter, people of other faiths may neither be greeted nor accepted as guests. So much for Christian charity. It is also remarkable that'ungodly' seem to be automatically involved in evil works'.

At the end of all days, the wheat is separated from the chaff. The'good' come into the potty, into God's Kingdom of Heaven. The'bad', on the other hand, will suffer eternally in hellfire because they have reached for the wrong faith in the supermarket of religions.

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all that deceives them into falling away, and those who do wrong will throw them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

A son who repeatedly defies his parents' orders should be stoned to death by stoning after consultation with the elders.
Strangely enough, the'Good News' does not say at any point that even parents have duties towards their children. Should the son who, for example, defends himself against sexual abuse, also be in the wrong?

If someone has a rebellious and disobedient son who does not obey the voice of his father and mother, and even if they chastise him, will not obey them, then father and mother shall take him and lead him to the elders of the city and to the gate of the place
And say unto the elders of the city, This our son of ours is rebellious and disobedient, and disobeys our voice, and is a glutton and drunkard.
And all the people of his city shall stone him, that he may die, and thou shalt put away evil from among you, that all Israel may listen and fear.
