No One Needs Meat Daily

After so many Corona cases happened in meat-packing facilities ... and after everyone knows now that meat-packing facilities treat their workers like slaves - not to mention what miserable lives these poor animal creatures endure until they are dragged to the slater house:  Move Away From Meat!

“From swine flu to SARS to COVID-19, it’s as clear as the gloved hand in front of your masked face that eating animals is killing us,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA’s ads directly tell the public that it’s about more than social distancing and hand sanitizer—it’s about what, or who, we’re putting on our plates.”

The total amount of water needed – to produce one pound of beef is 1,799 gallons of water. In comparison, the water footprint of one pound of soybeans is 216 gallons; corn is 108 gallons.

Cows must consume 16 pounds of vegetation in order to convert it into 1 pound of flesh. When land is used to raise animals instead of crops, precious water and soil are lost, trees are cut down to make the land for grazing or factory-farm sheds, and untreated animal waste pollutes rivers and streams.

Globally, there is a projected “food animal” population of over 20 billion, more than twice that of the current 7 billion humans the planet carries, with the animal count expected to rise along with human population growth, writes Foodtank.com

Meat does eat up vast amounts of resources, it seems that using it wisely (already crucial) will become even more so in the future.
“No one needs meat:  “Eat as if everyone’s life depends on it - because it does.”  And I might add:  Let's make the world a more compassionate place for animals!
