Happy April everyone! It is also called the “National Month of Hope”. April is a good time to complete a project. Earth sign transits bring appreciation for simple pleasures. And as it was weeks ago since the last holiday, look forward and enjoy the Easter Holidays - at least in Europe where the celebrations go from Good Friday to - and including - Easter Monday. My Time Fellowship for Parent Writers

Two fellowship winners will receive a one-week residency to allow the recipient to focus completely on their work, at least one to be awarded to a Person of Color. A $500 stipend will be provided to cover childcare and/or travel costs. Each writer’s suite has a bedroom, private bathroom, separate writing space, and wireless internet. We provide uninterrupted writing time, a European-style gourmet dinner prepared five nights a week and served in our community dining room, and a community kitchen stocked with the basics for other meals. Writers who are also parents of dependent children under the age of 18 are invited to apply. Work may be any literary genre: poetry, fiction, plays, memoir, screenplays, or nonfiction. Prior publication is not a requirement.  Deadline April 10

Ilgenfritz Longfellow Scholarships

A scholarship is for a female high school student who lives in Maine to attend the Longfellow Young Writers’ Workshop at the University of Maine at Farmington each July.  Deadline May 1.

Mineral School Residency Fellowships

Mineral School is an artist's residency located in a former elementary school built in 1947 near Mt. Rainier, in Mineral, Washington. During 2023 and the first half of 2024, we'll host 24 creative people. We provide accepted applicants with space and time to create new work without the interruptions of normal life and with the bonus of healthy meals prepared by culinary guest staffers using locally-grown organic produce and eggs where possible. Each resident will live in an 800-square foot former classroom that offers peekaboo views of Mineral Lake and Mt. Rainier, and that will double as their writing studio, with desk and chair, lighting, bookcase, and lots of chalkboards.  All one-week sessions are free. Otherwise, two-week residency costs $425 (mixed-genre residencies).

Illinois Envisioning Justice Grants

Mandel Cultural Leadership Program

The Mandel Cultural Leadership Program is a new fellowship for artists and producers who aim to reimagine Jewish life and galvanize action on a range of social issues through their creative work. The two-year fellowship includes an educational program, support from an adviser, and a $40k stipend to advance a project. Eligible candidates include artists across disciplines and a range of cultural producers, including but not limited to journalists, curators, chefs, comedians, video game world builders, cultural organizers, and culture bearers.  Deadline April 17

Literary Magazine Fund

In alliance with the Amazon Literary Partnership, the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) invites literary magazines to submit applications for grants from the Literary Magazine Fund. The Amazon Literary Partnership supports nonprofit literary organizations that empower writers to create, publish, learn, teach, experiment, and thrive.  Deadline April 14

Southern Studies Fellowship in Arts and Letters

Nine-month residency in Spartanburg, SC. One writer & one visual or performing artist will be selected to work together on a joint capstone project that will be presented at the end of the residency period. Fellows will be provided with an apartment, including utilities, & a monthly stipend of $900. Fellows will also travel in the Southeast to do research, & travel expenses will be covered. Artis Grants

Artis provides support for artists and curators from Israel who have been accepted at major international residency programs. Residency grants are provided directly to the successful applicant in support of travel, program fees, production costs, or other needs associated with the residency. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and responses are given within three months. Knoxville, TN, Rescue Plan Grants

Awards for artists living full-time in the City of Knoxville range from $500 to $15,000.
