Author Bio:
Westwood Lake Chronicles is one of eight books by Lawrence Winkler, an ancient physician and a traveler, a phenomenologist, a mushroom forager, and an amateur naturalist.  As a young man, he hitchhiked around the world, for five trans-formative years.

Lawrence Winkler's middle age is morphing from medicine to manuscript. He has a passion for habitat protection, including the (hopefully) final repairs on a leaky roof. Westwood Lake Chronicles was his first book.

About the Author:

As a medical professor, Lawrence Winkler never guessed that casual backyard observation would become a catalogue, and then an anthem, and then a lyrical chronicle of the science and poetry of nature.  He landed on a world of narrative non-fiction writing, from which there was no escape. Such sweet captivity.

His other passions include viticulture, travel, gardening, mushroom foraging, music, Japanese art, and efforts at local environmental stewardship. We protect what we love.

For the last twenty-seven years, he and his wife, Robyn, have joyously cultivated their small acreage on Vancouver Island.
